SUBCULTURE

A subculture in music is a group within a larger group who are distinctively different from others. An example of this would be the subculture of Punk who are loosely classed under rock. This is not seen as commonly in pop as the genre is still quite broad today so the fans or popular music can range to anybody. This may be a reason why the most popular pop bands and artists have created names for their fans such as 5SOSfam ,(5 Seconds of Summer), Goulddiggers (Ellie Goulding), KatyCats (Katy Perry), Zsquad (Zayn Malik) and Vamily (The Vamps).
