ADVERTS ANALYSIS
Taylor Swift's advert for her album 'Speak Now' consists of the title of the album in a larger font than Taylor's name. This may be because at this point in her career, not as many people knew her as they do now. However it could also be because an image of Taylor is the largest element on the advert immediately drawing the audience to the graphology. This means that the editor's wished to engage the attention immediately to Taylor and then the title of the album instead of her name.
The actual album is reflectively small in comparison to other elements on the advert such as the image of Taylor of the title of the album. This is most likely because Taylor, being one of the most famous artists, sells the album just by who she is and her music rather than the art on the album.
Taylor is picture with her arms near her face, gazing into the camera. The direct address catches the audiences attention as her looking straight into the camera, whilst her body is positioned facing away, creates a bond with the audience and makes them feel personalised and distinctive.
Olly's advert for his album 'Right Place Right Time' consists of an image of Olly looking directly into the camera wearing smart clothing. This represents him as an artist as somebody polite and not one to break the rules. The burgundy colour on his suspenders matches the colour of his name tying the image together effectively making the look complete and organised. He is also leaning on the wall in a comfortable position representing him as laid back and down to earth as it seems he doesn't take himself too seriously.
Furthermore, the bubble writing of the album title and Olly's name are conventional among pop albums as they imply fun and a cheerful dynamic. It is also in a bold font meaning that the name of the artist or title will stand out amongst other album as it is one of the main things the audience's eyes are drawn to on the page.
The background is in the colour of light blue which provides a very natural background for Olly to stand against. It is not too vibrant or bright therefore allowing the rest of the advert to stand out such as the text and artist.

The font of the album title and Taylor's name is in a handwriting font perhaps implying Taylor's ability in writing the album. It could also suggest that the album is personal to her as the font of the handwriting style suggests the lyrics and songs are meaningful to her as an artist and songwriter.
The colours chosen for the advert are white, red and gold which imply innocence, romance and wealth. This could suggest the songs on the album are based on love and perhaps associated with things past or present in Taylor's life, expressing the personal element again.
The light grey/ white cloudy background is effective as it allows Taylor and the text to be seen clearly. Furthermore, the soft and hazy background allows an element of innocence and fairness to come into the advert as white implies these connotations. It adds meaning to the country style Taylor was going for at this time.

As Olly Murs is signed to Syco and Sony Music, you would expect to see the credit of them on the advert. However as he is a successful artist, people may know what record label Olly is signed to, proposing no need for the record label to be on the advert. As well as this, there is a link to his website which may have more information and mention of the popular record label.
The mention of another popular artist (Flo Rida) may also draw attention to the album. This may appeal to those who are already fans of Olly's music as they see another popular artist and may find interest in the album by having two popular artists sing together On the other hand, the advert may also appeal to fans of Flo Rida as his genre of music is Hip Hop which may add new fans to take interest in the advert and then the album.
The line 'Includes no.1 single "Troublemaker"' may also appeal to the audience as they are able to understand Olly's popularity as his single was number 1. This means that it is popular among other people, making those who haven't listened to his music feel like they should as it was in the charts.
The main colours used on the advert for Jessie J's album Who You Are are black, white and gold. Black and white are neutral colours but with the addition of gold, it adds an element of quality to the album as gold implies wealth and glamour. Although Jessie J is a well-known popstar, she is also known for not conforming into the stereotypes of Pop artists. She does this by adopting an almost gothic style and wearing dark colours. This appeals to fans as it shows her uniqueness but also to those who are not typical fans of pop music as they view her as somebody different from the general pop artist. This may also explain the reason for the main colour of black throughout the advert.
Another thing that may attract the audience's attention is the line 'includes the #1 international smash "price tag"'. This is because if they are likely to know the song then they may want to buy the album Also mentioning that it was number 1 expresses Jessie J's popularity perhaps enticing others to listen to her music.

The image of Jessie J is the first thing to draw in the audience's attention followed by the gold writing of her name. Arguably being the most important things on the advert, it makes it easier to spot the album if looking in a shop. As well as Olly's album, there is mention of another popular artist (B.o.B) which could add a new audience to Jessie J's music. However, on this advert there is mention of Jessie J's record label's Republic Records and Lava Records. This may be because they are not filled with as many pop artists such as Sony Music so they promote their company through Jessie J's advert.
The background colour of white is effective as even though it is plain it allows the rest of the advert to stand out efficiently. For example, the image of Jessie J against the white background is effective as it enhances all elements of her face whereas if the background was black, it would blend in with her hair and make it seem like there was no background.
